My g-grandfather Dennis O'Brien was born County Cork Ireland to JohnO'Brien & Mary Cusack c. 1833. His older brother, John, was born 1830.  Both came to Massachusetts in the mid 19th century.  I found a marriage record for John Brien & Mary Cusack 12 Nov.

Gibbons and Roycroft, Burriscarra

I am trying find out information about my ancestors, John Gibbon and Bridget Roycroft who were married in 1843 in Burriscarra R.C. Parish Church.  Their first child, Robert, was born in Ireland in 1845 before they emigrated, presumably during the Famine. This leads me to believe that Robert may have been a family name, on one side or the other.  The fathers' names were not given on the Marriage Record which I obtained from Irish Family History Foundation.

Searching for Dorney from Tipperary

kd's picture

I'm trying to find information about my grandfather, William Francis Dorney. I know he was born in Tipperary around 1884 or 1885 (he died in Whitehaven, Cumberland in 1968, aged 84). I would love to know something about his parents. I know he married my grandmother Annie Main White in 1919, in Cumberland, but I haven't been able to find out if he came to England on his own, or with his family, or even whether he played a part in WW1. Annie and William (Bill) had 7 children - 2 were twins, my mother Margaret and her sister Sheila.

Hello, I am looking for Edward Bowen and Honorah Irwin. Edward Bowen born around 1818 Honorah born around 1820?  They had a son Cornelius Bowen born 1840 in Kilmoyler Tipperary he immigrated to Australia in 1856/57 age 17 with his cousin Michael Bowen age 21 aboard the ship Alfred. The ships records states Cornelius parents were dead at the time he boarded the Alfred. I thought your Parish might have the records of Cornelius's parents and if he had any other siblings?

Some of the records have the name Bowen spelt as Boheen?
