Hugh Mooney

Hi;

Trying to find information on Hugh Mooney b. 1837 in Tipperary. He married Sarah Egan b. 1840 in Offaly. I found a Tithes Valuation for Cappakilleen with the tenants listed as Wm. Thomas Mooney and Edward Egan which leads me to assume Hugh was from this area. Hugh and Sarah emigrated to Ontario, Canada around 1865. They had 3 children who were baptised in Dunkerrin, Offaly and 8 more children after arriving to Canada.

Are there any Mooney's still in the area today?

Thank you.

Karen

Reid from Derrygarve & McErlane (poss from Greenlough)

mikeousey's picture

Happy to share diaspora information regarding the descendants of Joseph Reid (1854-1928) and Mary/Maria McErlane (1860-1929).  Eager to make further McErlane and Reid connections.

Joseph's father was also named Joseph (wife Ellen Scott) unsure of county (poss Antrim).  All farmed in Derrygarve, including Mary's father Hugh McErlane, but the above were married at St. Mary's in Greenlough which leads me to believe that she and father Hugh were of the McErlanes/McErleans of that area.

Also eager to learn any information regarding his youngest with Catherine (Michael) or the children of his second marriage to Mary Anne Fox (Mary Eliza, John & Joseph)

My ancestor is James E Troy. He arrived in Massachusetts in 1846.  His wife was Johanna Flanagan

His brother, Thomas' tombstone in Danvers, Massachusetts says that he was from Waterpark.

Does anyone know of this family and if, in fact, they were from Waterpark. Historical records in

Massachusetts state that James and Thomas' parents were James Troy and Mary Sullivan.

Thank you

Joshua Cooper (according to his 1891 death certificate of Tregarva, Sasktchewan, Canada) was born Jan./Feb 1811 in Antrim.) However all information I can verify is from his life in Down. He married Mary Ann Coulter of Craigoful Feb 19, 1831. There are at least 3 gravestones in the Ballyculter cemetery for their children.
