Bourney/Bournea Parish Group would welcome your support and assistance. Through national and local records, we are identifying People who emigrated from Ireland, tracing them and their descendants across the world. We are actively looking for local volunteers on the ground to join our group and help us build up a picture of who left Ireland from the parish and surrounding areas.
A weekend of events centred on the launch of a publication to mark the 150th anniversary of Croom National School. Class reunions, school registers accessible, talks and lectures on the unique architecture and history of the school. A gathering from home and abroad to celebrate the 150 years and to provide a future contact network for past pupils.
A Gathering of the Kane Clan who came to Drumlish and have roots there from mid 1800s - This is an invitation to come to Longford and learn about the Kane's who originated in Derry and made their way to Drumlish Co. Longford The day will begin with a tour of Drumlish and surrounding area and then on to Longford Rugby Club to meet Kanes from around the Globe to meet and greet and share stories, enjoy some food and entertainement as well explore heritage and history - check details on the Gathering Ireland website.
A celebration of all that is good about our community its history, heritage, culture, music, dance, sport and most importantly its people. "Muintir Amhain, Muintir Ardrahan" an old Irish probverb which means Ardrahan People are One People and we invite our diaspora, family and friends to join us as one for a gathering in June 2013.
