I am looking for information about Joseph Christopher O'Haver. He was born in 1728 somewhere in County Mayo according to family. He and his brother went to Germany to excape religious persecution, where he studied medicine and then went to America where he served as a doctor to colonial troops. He died in Tennessee in 1813. Any information would be very welcome. Are there any O'Havers left in the area of Mayo? Any information will be welcome. Thank you, Kim Kelly
What an interesting and unique story. Wonder if you should search on some variations of the name? See this link about O Heffron, O'Hefferon O Haveran

You can find quite a few of the variations without the O' in the 1901 and 1911 Censuses in Mayo. Here's the links if you don't have:

Thank you for your help. I checked the links you provided. They were very helpful. I hope I can unravel this mystery. I hope to be able to visit Ireland soon and see the places where my both sides of my family came from. Again Thank you. Kim
