County Wexford (Irish: Contae Loch Garman) is a county in Ireland. Wexford County Council is the local authority responsible for the county, and is part of the South-East Region. County Wexford is located in the province of Leinster, and is named after the town of Wexford. In pre-Norman times it was part of the Kingdom of Uí Cheinnsealaig, whose capital was at Ferns. The population of the county is 145,273 according to the 2011 census.
