My name is Lorraine My grandmother was Bella McGuiness she lived with my Aunt Eileen I still talk to her daughter Ivy, I knew all my uncles but the one that I spoke to when I returned to Ireland was Harry who made a point to always see me when I came home, I guess I was the best kept secret around I was brought to the States when I was 7 years old and I do not know any of my family, I did know uncle Roger and have all kinds of pictures of all of them that was sent to me by my Aunt Eileen and her daughter Ivy and I have family history and stories Aunt Eileen and Nanny Bella wrote to me when I was young.  I come home to Ireland all the time we have a house in Malahide but I live in Florida.  I do not think I know you but I did know your mother and saw her when all the Aunts came to visit me in the city in 1998 that was also when I met my real father John Seales.

I would also like some information on the McGuinness Family. My father was illigitimate in the 1940's and after doing the Ancestry DNA test it prove hios father to be one of the McGuinness (Bellas) Sons in the first marriage. I have been unable to find any information except Bella and her 2 husbands. I have scaled it down and my guess is William was his father so would be grateful for any information that maybe available.

I have posted before. Harry, I also find the Mc Guinness family intriguing. My grandmother was Bella Mc Guinness, my father Roger, somewhere along the way his name changed from Seale to Seales which is my surname. Your father was my uncle Harry, I cannot recall how long ago it was when I last saw him. I know all the brothers and sister have since died. I was at the funeral of Sean Mc Guinness with my mother Patricia who is 94 years old now. Unfortunately, because of separation/divorce, we had limited contact with the Mc Guinness side of our family. From the information I have, two sons, Roger and Johnny were from the second marriage(Seales/s). Roger lived sometime in the U.K. and spent his last years in Wicklow. Johnny lived in the U.S. for a long time.
I would like to take this opportunity to say hello to Lorraine who posted a few years back. I didn't reply at the time because I probably can't fill in many gaps for anyone as my father(Roger) left when I was 10 years old and I probably saw him less than 10 times until he died when I was in my late twenties. I do have family photos which my Mam kept and I can pass them on to anyone. I would love to see some photos that I hadn't seen before and maybe that can help everyone. David

My mother Phyllis Byrne Seale Ytuarte was married to Johnny Seale (McGuiness) she just passed away last week at 92.  She stayed in touch with Ivy my couson who was the daugher of Eileen McGuiness the only sister in the family, I have pictures that my mother passed on to me and some history of Granny Bella from her neice Eileen..  My mother told me Bella was married to McGuiness, it was a forced marriage and he was much older than her, she then had an affair with Seale my mother says Rory and John are from Seale who was killed in England in a bus accident, and the others were from McGuiness side. My mother left Johnny Seale when I was very young and they divorced and he moved back to Ireland, we stayed in the states.  I have met all of your mothers and my mother was very close to Pat. who probaly does not even know my Mother just passed away.  Uncle Harry I used to see when I would visit Ireland he played at a club in Dublin. Uncle Roger I remember well,  I would see them all when I was sent to Butlins and they would play as a family.

Thank you very much for all the information. I yourself we are in the same position regards on past family issues. Some of the stories I didn't know about, particularly about my father's father, my own father Harry Mc never told us about his years grown up, we didn't know who my dad father was, he always kept very private, from what we can gather he didn't seems to have a happy childhood. I remember visit my grand mother Bella in Cabra and we had great chat with Eileen and her daughter Ivy Doran. I remember Johnny very well, he used to spend a lot of time with my father in Finglas and I also remember when he came home from USA. I was also at Sean funeral. I know that Willie and Valera moved to the UK and we never heard after that. My father Harry had 8 children, 4 boys and 4 girls and my eldest sister is called Bella after my grand mother.

I am so sorry to hear about your mam passing. My mam definitely doesn't know yet. I will let her know in the next few days. She mentioned your mam Phyllis many times and will be very saddened to hear this news. I also went to Butlins, Johnny arranged it so as I could see my Dad Roger. My Mam, remembers more of the past than the present and I regularly sit with her and look through photos. I will probably do the same later this week when I visit.

Just read your post. Bella mc Guinness was my Grandmother to.My Dad was Harry McGuinness Senior. There has been a lot of posts over the last few days with information some i never heard before but very interesting. Your name dosent strike a cord with me but from reading your post i realise you are Johnnys Daughter i also remember my Father telling me Johnny moved to the States. I remember your father very well i played in the band when i was young we had a redency in the Royal Hotel in Dublin. Like your self we always wondeted about the family history. My father was a very secretive man any questions about his past or family was quickly rebuked. Like your self we have a lot of photos.

I was sent to Granny Bella when I was 7 years old and my borther John was 2, her and my father put my brother and I in a orphanage to stop her from leaving him and would not tell my mother where we were, my mothers brothers searched all over until they found us, after that we moved to the states and I never met any of the family, I did visit Granny Bella when she fell on a rose bush in her yard and ended up with lockjaw, my Nana Byrne took me to the hospital to see her before she diedm I was about 12 I think. I went back with my husband and sons in 2002 and found my father, "his first words to me were, he had no regrets" so needless to say we did not build a relationship I spoke to him again when my brother was killed and I received a message from his new wifes nephew when he died, I did not attend the funeral, Uncle Harry I would see at the club when I went with Aunt Joan and of course Aunt Pat would always see me when I came home once a year.  Sadly I do not know any of my family on the McGuiness/Seale sde.  My mother went out of her way to keep it that way, she knew so much about Granny Bella I regret I did not listen to the stories, I was so filled with hate, my mother told me she had a very hard life and worked very hard to raise her children.  I have a history of the family given to me by Aunt Eileen when I was older I will have to search out with pictures of all the children.  Please God when we come next year to bury Mom I will get to meet some of you

Then we have a person called Kaz who had narrowed doen a DNA test and thinks Willie Mc Guinness is his Father.

As for my Family we always wondered who my Fathers Father was no matter which of our uncles we asked we got no answer.

Yes Harry, there is alot going on that I knew very little about. I am going to talk with my Mam this weekend and ask her for her memories. Like Lorraine, I think, if possible, we should try to meet up next year. I know Aunt Eileen gave a written account of her family history and I have a copy if it. I doubt that all the details are there but between us all maybe we can fill in the gaps. It's all part of our family history and although some of it is very sad, in my opinion, it needs to be recorded. Regards to all, Dave.

Just read your message as you say there is a lot going on at the moment. As you know this is an open site so i cant exchange email or phone numbers. As you might know our own family consisted of eight children four boys four girls all still alive. My eldest sister Bella has a lot more information on issues from the past. I spoke to her about some of the messages on here. One thing that did puzle her was the messsge from Lorraine who said she was Johnnys  daughter and i apolagise if i got the facts wrong my sister said Uncle Johnny had two children Caroline and John.

I agree with you maybee a meeting some time next year when all this covit thing is over. I am living in Notrth Dublin where are you living at this moment.

Johnny Seale and Phyllis Byrne had 2 children, Lorrane and John.  John was adopted by Manuel Ytuarte and Lorraine stayed Lorraine Seale until her marriage in 1973. I am married to a wonderful man named Ed, who is a retired police officer and a deacon in the Catholi church, my brother John had 2 boys Connor and Sean with Kim O'Reilly who are my pride and joy and live in my other house in Florida, I have 2 boys Ryan and Paul and 5 grandchildren  I am bringing all of them home when everything opens up next year to bury Mom.  Back in 2002 I met most of the woman of the Seale.McGuiness family in Dublin city with my mother who set it up for me to meet some of my family., my Aunt Joan said it was Pat and 2 other aunts and cousins who my Aunt knows, when I told her I had reached out she was very upset, she said she trusts Pat but does not want me hurt, also I have blanked out my past so I have no memories of anyone, the only one I know of is Ivy and Aunt Pat who spole to my mother all the time  I do not know who Caroline is and I know Johnny had no other children because his obituary names me only.   I know he was married again but never met his wife,  I would go home at least once a year and usually look him up but usually did not spend much time with him

I just read your post this morning , i have spoken to my eldest sister who is the first born in our family.It was she who informed me about Uncle Johnnys children as i said before it was she who gave me the names. But could i also say i dont remember any of my sisters being invited to a renunion involving all the women from both familys i have  four sisters and they have no recolection of any meeting .

Aunt Bella, as we called her was a special lady, as was her daughter Eileen.  My dad, her nephew and all the Donohoe family, talk about her and all her kindness.  She was very close to my grandad, her broth, Patrick.  I have a photo of them both with their mother when Bella would have been about 5.  Their grandmother was Bridget Kenny, Queen of the Irish fiddlers.  You can google that name and title and see her photo and an article about her.  It tells us where the music comes from in the family.

I have that article that Aunt Eileen sent me years ago.  I have stayed in touch with Eileen Donahue and her husband who are here in ORlando part of the year  Mom and I used to go to visit them but did not get to this year because of Mom's health and the Covid,  Her husband is a Deacon like my husband and she was always so good to us when we were young, they would take us to their house in New York for the holidays, she is the only one I know on the Donahue side.  My childhood is a blank, I have no memories and even though it was a problem it was for the best.  The only one I remember meeting out of all the Seale/McGuiness is Aunt Pat, there was 2 other aunts and cousins we met at the hotel in Dublin city Center with my mother, Aunt Joan and my husband,  I do know my mother set it up and did it very strategically because again of my memories, she did not want me overwhelmed which I was anyway, there were so many I also met my family on the Byrne and Kelly side, so it really was a lot to take in and the first time I had been to Ireland since I was a child.  I know the Byrne/Kelly side because they would come to Florida to visit and I was close to my mothers brothers and sisters and now all my cousins,  I was very close to Luke Jimmy, Paddy, Sean, Betsy and Mona Kelly,  Luke brought me home for my 16th birthday when he was in Jesus Christ superstar, Mona lived with us in the States while we were growing up.  If you are trying to prove I am a fake that is ok I am used to that, I was the outsider and never belonged, I get it, It does not hurt any longer I have learned to accept it my father never acknowleged me,   I was an innocent child and so was my brother, I went out of my way to find him but he did not seem to care, he never once invited me to his home, only met me in the bar, I brought his youngest grandchild and he was totally unimpressed. and sadly that is all my son remembers about him.  Thank God I had  my brother in my life and his sons, they are my greatest joy, I also am blessed with great kids and grandkids and a fantastic husband and the Byrne/Kelly family who acknowledge and love me and spoil me rotten and for that I am blessed.

Like you ,,we know very little about what went on in the past thats why i took the time to answer all the messages. Regsrds you feeling left out as i said prevoiusly i spoke to my eldest dister who would know a lot more than me because she was around at the time and remembers a lot.Maybee she is mistaken with the names so me asking quedtions is not ment as rejection.Regards the Byrnes and Kellys i have no idea luke krlly we all know as a matter of fack in our show i do a loy of luke kelly tributes.. Boy..Harry..Vincent.. Gerard and Tony they are twins but dont look alike. You Mom died 12years ago and we still cant get over the loss. Our Dad died in 1999. We dont know much about my Dads past any time we asked we were met with an abrupt answer and told to mind our own business we were told mo stories no pasy memoties nothing. We dont even know who his Dad was judt think jow frusyrsting thsty is. If i hurt your feelings i apolagise it was not mesnt as sn insult. I apologize, I am sensitive when it comes to this side, because again no one ever reached out except Eileen Donahue.  My Nana Byrne was Luke Kelly's sister so Luke Kelly was my mothers cousin and they were all very close, Luke and my Uncle Michael took the role of my father, so Luke was Uncle Luke to me the same with Paddy, Jimmy, Mona, Betsy and John, I see and talk to the ones that are still alive and I stay in close touch with my cousins Paula McCann and Jullieanne, Uncle Luke was my babysitter when I was born, Mom says it was because he loved reading so he would come to the house in Santry and kick her out and he would read all night.  I knew all the Dubliners and they were very good to myself and my brother growing up, when they came to the States they always made a big deal over us so I was blessed I had so many Aunts and Uncles watching over me.  I was at granny Bellas house when I was young, she would try to teach me the piano, I remember that and I remember a shrine in the living room and the back yard with her plants. I was told by my mother that Harry, Roger and John were from Seale and he was killed by a bus in England, her first husband was alot older and it was a forced marraige, all the other boys were from him, he died of old age and she married Seale, they kept the McGuiness name for the band.  My Mom said Bella struggled to raise all those boys and had a very hard life.  She was good to me and even after doing what she did (he did) to me and my brother my mother brought her over here to New York for 3 months and she was kind, even thought I do not rememeber a lot.  I remember Uncle Harry and Roger, one of them played at the teachers union club in Dublin City and I saw him when I went home with my husband.  I worked for Delta Airlines so I travel back and fourth to Ireland.  I did not go back until 1997 after that I went all the time.  My mother spoke highly of your mother and father and Pat, she told me Rory left his wife and I do not remember any of the others. When my mom set up the reunion it was Pat and 2 other woman and 2 nieces who would have been my cousins, my Aunt Joan says that 2 of them stayed with Mom in Florida many, many years ago..I do not remember My sons ask me questions all the time and so do my brothers sons about their grandfather and I have no answers, like I said my one son met him one time in a pub with my husband, it was a quick meet and then he left, another time we went to a club in Dublin and spoke with him, I guess that was when he was very sick.  I was left a message by Johnny's nephew that he died at my mothers house (where I did not live) so I did not know until my mother called me, she did attend the funeral I remember her telling me that. My ne[hew told me yesterday that Eileen Donahue called to speak to me, but like all young boys, he does not remember where he wrote the number, so I am going through my mothers paperwork now.  Like you the death of my mother was very hard on me, she was my rock and all I had in this world especially after my brother died so I have not had the mental strenght to go through her stuff yet, maybe when I do I will have some more answers, she kept notes and writings and articles so maybe I will find out more.  That is great that you do a tribute to Luke, I was home for his statue unveling , our one boy Connor is the spitting image from the kinky red hair, the others are all Byrnes I think I do not have pictures of any of you so I do not know.  Please God when we get home, (the whole family is going with me) all my boys, my brothers boys and all the grandchildren we are thinking it will be August depending on this Covid.  My brother and stepfather are buried in Ireland with all the family and that is what she wanted also.  I hope you have a merry Christmas also.  I am also on Facebook under LorraineIrishgirl, would love to talk to you more and get to know all of you better.

I was born here but my parents come out from the UK in 1971. They both still live here, my mum has never been back but my dad had been back many times to see his mother, she only died this year in August she was 99. She took to the grave the secret of my dads father!

Like i said before we were always curious about you past perhaps we csn get a lot more answers now. I will run through a few details but probaly you allresdy know.

The Brothers and we dont know for sure who  is Mc Guinness or Seals. I will stsrt with my Dad..Harry..Sean..Rory..Roger..Va!era..Willie ..Johnny..now there is a Michael..and..Paddy.i have no photos of those yeo i just adked my sisyer why none of the family have no photos of both of them she ssid she fosent know.Also she told me Paddy died very young he went  to Enjland to work he got a job as a window cleaner , he fell from a high rise building and died he was brought home and he is duried in the ssme grave as Eileen and Granny Bella. Our chilfhood eould have been a lot different than your but to be honest only for my Mother things s for us would have bern a lot different according to stories. Regards the red hair there were only two of us with read hair on this side of the family. One is me the othet is Gerard i jad a mass of red vurly hair when  i was young my mam never got it cut.

In the next messsge i will try and fill ypu in on where all the Sons went to live.

my fathers name was patrick mcguinness he died in 1955 in uk.yes my aunt was eileen doran my cousin ivy  i used to go to visit ireland from the age of 10 when my daad died till i was sixteen.i think my uncle johnny moved to usa.i had cousins olive alice and others..it seem like i have a lot of relativves on this page.  we lived in london wheen my dad died he was brought to ireland to be buried.as far as i know he died when he fell from scaffolding..please anyone feel free toget in touch via this page. is anyone on facebook.

I take it you have read all of the posts on here. Olive..Alice..Anne we the Daughters of Sean Mc Guinness one of my Fathers Brothers they lived very near us. When you ask was the family from travellers no they were not. Our Grandmother and some of my Uncles were reared in the Gloster Diamond a residents in central Dublin. I dont remember your Dad but i know he died from an accident he was replacing windows and fell off the scaffolding. He is buried in Glasnevin Cemetry.We visited the grave ment times with my Father but thats a long time ago. We never knew Paddy had children my Dad never mentioned it tk us ml Then theres a lot of things my Dad never told us.

Regsrds Fez asking about Gerard the only Gerard i know about is my brother Gerard he is one of the twins born to my Mam Frances Mc Guinness..Maiden name Corcoran.

No i am not one of thers sons.My Father was Harry Mc Guinness senior one of the original Mc Guinnesses Brothers if you read all the messages i posted it might give you an ideaf of our family .As far as i know there are no members of the family living in Cabra. Valera lived on yhe same road as out family so we would have known them very well. They moved to Luton in England Velera worked at Vauxhall Motors.I was just told Valera name was michael this is where it gets complicated Nanny Guinness changed his name to Valera in commerstion of Eamonn De Valera former President of Ireland mow thats a syrange one.

i always knew the the name seale but didnt  know some of them were called seale as your dad is mcguinness  he would have been my dads eldest brother.some of the family came over when i got married in 1966. the family history is very interesting.. i have learnt so much if i come accross ant pics i wipp post them but at the moment i cant find any.as i said my early life is complicated born in birmingham uk but i know as i said before lived with my mums sister on farm in ireland  i was taken bck at 5 when they already had my sister who was one at the time ten we laded back in uk my sis was born in ireland .amyway i willkeep checking back on this page. i think my dad was early 30s when he died i was 10.

If you knew Seans Daughters thrn you must have met my oldest sister Bells Mc Guinness she wad a grste friend of Olive they worked together olive spent a lot of time in our house.As i said we had no idea Paddy had children can i ask who was your mother and ehst eas her name was she iridh.. Regards Ivy Doran i have no infirmstion  Also the confusion regsrds the names.The name Mc Guinness was kept becsuse at the time they were known as the mc guinnesses orchestra.Even tho some of the brothers were known as Seals.After that they changed the bands name to the Majestics. We have some fliers from the day indicating the Majestics.Also photos of my Dad on drome with the Majestics logo.

You living on a farm with Johnny just dosrnt make sence Johnny was my uncle to us johnny living on a farm is like taking the man out of the. There is a lot we dont know and as you children thst were born eligimate were hidden awsy never to know there history.

All of the messages here i will speak to my oldest sisyer anout mayber she can shead some light on things.. But i am sure if some one knows where Ivy Doran is she might be able to give some answers. As a family we have a lot of photos there is a lot if you search the internet.All of the family were musicsl we have photos of the band when they wrre young some we cant make out because they are so young.  The band plsyed all over Ireland and England they wrte unique becausr they erte from the same family..at one stage very famous.

I will open the files when i get more time.Yes there was a willie mc guinness they moved to the uk the same time as Valera, there Son would come home for holidays to Dublin i think his name was Rory maybee calles after one of the Brothers. But i remember my father telling me he had a bad accident he had got an expensive chemistry set mixed the wrong substances and blew him self up.

i used the camera on my laptop really difficult as i had to take the pic in front of lap,what i did it says choose new file so i went to my camera roll and took pic.any photo you take with laptop should be on camera roll otherwise save the pic  in your documents its easier if you ake folder call it family or something and save photos in it.so when it says chose file go to photo click open and the  pic should be in file then just upload it and post it.i hope iv explained.the young guy in photo maybe you will recognise him at the back of my mind i feel he is related to willie mcguinness.anyway harry i hope iv explained about.it maybe easier if you take photo with your phone  it will automatically go into file and will be under images if you look through it it will show camera and thats where your photos should be.  i know he was my cousin and died young so that sounds like him.bye harry hope iv explained ok. when your posting the msgs on your laptop if you scroll down it will say add files. then click upload and then postx take care

harry i just want to say  i know now the fact i lived with an aunt  in ireland till 5 and i was the ony family member  to be born in uk.but for my sister to be born in dublin they couldnt have kept that quite.they would have been living in dublin.perhaps we will have to be like sherlock holmes to find out all the intrigue. because i must be have brought from uk and taken to my aunts.it is all very strange. i lived with my aunt for a long time i talked about accident i suffered burns at age one after that i lived with my aunt on a farm in the countryside..anyway thats all i remember for the moment.

harry im trying to think of an easier way for photos on pc take photo open fie explorer there should be a  folder called camera roll thats where your photos should be.before that at the bottom of msgs theres a item  called choose file press that it will come up with a list of places go to thecamera roll file press that choose open file then press on it it will appear bottom of msgs then press upload file then press post and the pic will be posted.

i have a feeling that beause my sister was born in dublin she woudhave been known about. i can only tell you what i know.i was born in birmingham in uk.i have a burn mark top of my nexk was told a pot of boiling water fell over me. i lived until age of 5 with my aunt kathleen and her husband and there children in the country on a farm till i was 5.i remember so well that one day before we went back to uk seeing my aunt kathleen and she said to me how did i fee about being back with my mum. i know when i was 5 and went back to my mum anfd dad my sister was already a year old and she was born in dublin.so although i remained living with my aunt untill i was 5 i  assume when they came fback from uk  i was sent to live with my aunt  i dont know where i had the accident it was when i lived with my mother i was told when i was 1 it happened. the confusion about johnny was of course because my aunt kathkeen son was called johnny was my cousin and whereas your dads brother was called johnny and he was my uncle.  i n the back of my mind i knew that was willies son and we were close. i had a feeling that was velera. iit would be nice to see photos i do not even have any of my dad. i hope now the sequence you can see of me been born in uk coming back to ireland and living with my mums siter and family and then going back to my parents when i was five and my sister was already one and they were living in dublin.harry iv always felt pain about my childhood and not normally something i talk about but i am sharing it with you. you asked to brought who brought me to uk well that would have been mymum and dad but after my dad died we did come back to bella every year for 2 weeks. so i was born in uk brought back to ireland lived with aunt and family on my mothers side then takrn back by my mother when my sister was already one years old and she was born in dublin thhats why i had no problem with british passport as i was born in uk and she had problems because she was born in dublin.i hope i have explained as best i can. my childhood is from the age of 5 is something i block out but i am telling you because it is important. take care.keep safexxx

Thanks for the reply, just a quick recap.You were born in uk.You were brought back to Ireland by your Mother and Father Fsther Paddy mc Guinness.Then you and your Mother and Father stayed with your Aunt in the Country your aunt on ypur mothers side.Then you were taken bavk  to uk by your Father Paddy Mc Guinness and your mother.So your sister was born in Ireland.

Then after when you returned to uk your father died would you say this is accurate.Because you say you were taken back by your mother no mention of your father returning. Where is your sister.

My family told me Ivy Doran  married a man called Liam Hurley he is the brother of Red Hurley the Irish Singer.

harry i only ever came onto this page because iv always had a sense of not belonging because of my childhood.i have found this through you thanku.

harry i did not live with my parents up till i was 5. as i said i was born in uk i had accident when i was one i think i can only tell you what i was told.i do notknow how i ame back to ireland from uk but i do know i did not live with my parents in  ireland.i lived on y own in ireland with my aunt kathleen uncle and my cousins.i know there even now i can feel love they showed to me.i asked about scar from accident but was just told i had pot of boiling water over me it missed my face but left a deep scar which is still visible. i was told i was in hospital for a long time. what iv told you  i dont even talk about to my children i had 3 children my 1st daughter died at 4 months old so i had a son then 2 daughters and i have seven grandchildren.  after i went to live with my aunt i do not know if my parents lived in uk or ireland i have no idea. but my sister was born in dublin but my parents did not take me back till i was 5 and my sister was one. because of erly years that i didnt live with parents there was never really no relationship with my family.there was me and then there was them three.and thats how it was and howit remains.by answering your question i have had to go back to painful memories.  i know after my dad died i was totally shut out..  but it meant that when my chidren were botn they had an entirely diffeent upbringing with love been the most important.same as my grandchildren i have a very close bond with them.i hope iv explained maybe if we had remained in ireland i would have known you all.

its to late for me to find out  truth as everyone is disceased. but the fact iv at least got to know you is good.  i do know my sister had daughter and my  mother used to take her to visit ireland and my mothers family.  so i would rather  just get to know you and maybe any other family members.i do not have a single picture of family members on your side no picture of my dad no pics of me.

so i hope iv explained. lived on my own with aunt uncle and cousisins till i was 5.the accident happened when i live with my parents.i dont know where my parents lived after i was with my aunt but my sister was born in dublin thats all i know.

harry reading some of the posts on the mcguinness family  my story does not seem unique there are others and i think back in those days things wernt spoken about. andybody who knew is deceased.i saw a post by dep deacon she seens to have a lot of information given to her by eileen doran. of course i went on the search family page you mentioned andit was interesting thats where i discovered ivy was disceased.

a bit of more info about me. i dont have great granchilden. my  grandchildre range from 22 to 29.my grandson who is 29 is a successful businessman travelling all round the world.but has been working from home since march he does zoom business metting from home. he should have been going to start travelling abroad agin but then we had second wave so he has a pa who arranged zoom mettings so from home he does 9  to 5  he goes into office in london once a week. he decided to sell his house and bought a another house and moves early new year.my grandchildren are all concretating on careers and buying homes before they have famlies.if i think of something else i will let you know.  my grandson also studied forensic science when he left school.

As you know all of the family were musicans so they hsd a residency in Butlins for six months of the year so at certain times we were brought to Butlins so we spent a lot of times with our uncles..

When you access your computer you will see two photos have a good look at Eileen Mc Guinness and tell me who she looks like.The first person in the photo is my Father Harry mc Guinness ..the next is Willie some people called him Billy...The last man is Valera Mc Guinness the man who was given you a hand out of the car. It was me (Kez) that asked about your sister Carol.

I did the Ancestry DNA test and she is a second cousin to me and first cousin to my dad. My dad also did the DNA test. I contacted Carol through Ancestry and she told me your dad had the accident.

We also have a match with another cousin who is Robert McGuinness and his dad was Rory he was in the second marriage and was a Seales but because of the family band everyone went by McGuinness. 
I am interested to find out which brother was my dads father and was in the McGuinness side not the Seales side.

All my dad was told he was a red haired Irish Sailor, who must have went to the UK because that's where my dad was born. My dads mum only passed away a few months ago aged 99 and took the secret to the grave but my dad says he now has a photo and some poems his father wrote to my nana but I'm yet to see them. 
Anyway Happy New Year to everyone here and hopefully we can put some pieces together.

hi kez finally i am getting answers to questions i longed to know.it sounds like noone knew i existed as i was unaware of any contact been made. iv only been in contact with harry only a few days but already i am starting to get some information. and thank you for information.   i looked on the family search page harry mentioned and i remember a roger mcguinness but there is no mention of him on bellas children.when you say rory you have probably seen pic of me when i got married harry said he was willies son and he had died in alate 20s. is that the rory you mean.. i always assumed i was the only one born in uk. but my sister was born in dublin youv probably ready my history when iv been talking to harryy..anyway i will keep in contact with you all and thanks for your information. the mcguinness family does seem complicated but interesting.  i had red hair when i was young..

I read your previous message asking questions about the Family.Regards the mc guinnesses and Seals on facebook you will see the official l registrstion of births of all the boys..the records show only one name is registered as a Seals and that is Johnny.

This is open to interpretation because wr have alwsys been told more than one the boys were Seals.

Hi all, I haven't posted for a while as I can't add much to what has been posted
already. I don't know much of the Mc Guinness family history, only what my mam has told me. Just to make clear the Seale/s side of things from my family. I was born David Seales, my brother's name is Brian. My dad was Roger Seale, the addition of the S at the end of the name is a bit unclear. I can find nothing about John Seale/s my father's father. I know he died suddenly in an accident, I don't know what year, but I believe he worked in C.I.E and was a friend of John McGuinness, my grandfather. Our Seales family don't have many documents, only photos. My Mam has wedding photos and photos of the Mc Guinness family.
I know my dad used the Mc Guinness name for the music side of his life as Harry and Kez have already mentioned. He is on the irishshowbands webpage, look up The Everglades and you will see him under the photo as Roger Mc Guinness. Can I ask Kerry, did Robert Mc Guinness tell you that Rory was a Seales?
Robert is my cousin, along with David, Paul and Jean. Rory was married to Hilda, I don't know her maiden name. Just knew her as Aunt Hilda and she remained friends with my mam until her death.

My nana only died a few months ago at 99 so my dad was waiting for the poems to come from England to Australia and they have now arrived but I have not seen my dad yet as we live 4 hours apart. Hope to see him soon and see the poems.

my first contact was with harry and babara who run the mcguinness site.i knew nothing of history and didnt have a single photo,but because of harry and babara and others posting pics i can now find out some of the  inormation on family.

My wife has set up a mc guinness and seales if you want you can send a requedt to join.Also i am so sorry to hesr Hilds has passed awsy Rorys Wife the last time i spoke to her was st Sesn Mc Guinnesses Funeral.Also just to confirm we have a copy of all the original birth certificate and dates of births. There is nine boys one girl registered only Johnny Mc Guinness is registered as a Sesles. We were told there was only eight boys some mentioned Joseph was Roger i met roger meny..meny times.and also my Father never mentioned it.  dont forget births had to be registered by a registered doctor or midwife .
