I am trying o find any informaion on my Grandfather James Gibson Adolphus O'Hagan born circa 1865 at Green Castle, Belfast. On his marriage certificate it say his father was also a James and that he was a teacher.

    Greencastle is on the Shore Rd in Belfast and would be covered by Belfast civil registration area.

    Statutory birth registration started in Ireland in 1864. I searched the Belfast records for 1864 to 1868 for a James O’Hagan birth to a James O’Hagan teacher. Nearest I could find was James Hagan born 2.2.1865 at 5 Doll’s Lane, Belfast to James Hagan, dealer, and Alice McCormack.
