Peter O'Brien and Maggie, his Spouse

These were my grandparents. They are buried in St. Michael's Cemetary in Larah. I have no idea who their parents were. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Dad Was Cornelius O'Brien who died in 1981. If anyone has any information I would be most grateful. They lived near the Beehives if hat helps. Brendan Cooney now lives on the property. Thank you so much!

  • Dear O'Brien Family,

I will see can I help you.  First of all work backwards from your father's birth and then to his parent's marriage, this should give you their full names and hopefully their father's names, and in many cases it should state whether this father was still alive.  You did not say how old your father was when he died.  If you look at this website http://www.genealogy.nationalarchives.ie/  you will find links to the available census and wills & the tithe applotments, use these to locate your family.  For Birth Deaths and Marriages you can also search for free on https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ not all the images are loaded yet,but quite a few are.   A subscription site you can use is RootsIreland, they have the church records at www.rootsireland.ie.  I know where the Beehive is as I have cousins living close by.  Do you have any living relatives?  I know some O'Brien's, but they do not live there and if you wish to send me an email at ocallaghan.carmel@gmail.com  I will see can I help you further.

    Regards Carmel
