Looking for Mary Alice McGovern, born about 1857. She married John McDonald in Kill, Cavan 1 June 1878. They later moved to Falkirk, Scotland. She is my great grandmother.
I suggest you order a copy of the 1878 marriage certificate as that should give you addresses, father's names, occupations etc which will enable you to trace further. Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church (which should be on the certificate, unless it was a Registry Office marriage). That church may be the place to look for her baptism and that of any siblings.
