Great grandmother Elizabeth (Bessie) Montgomery.  Have copy, record of her 1862 marriage to Gt grandfather Daniel Doogan. Have census entry 1901 Townland Dunglave/Civil Parish Kinawley/Reg. Dist Bawnboy...Daniel Doogan age 60 born Fermanagh/Bessie Doogan age 60 born Cavan. Have copy petty court sessions 1908/Ordering Daniel to give up posession of house Dunglave where resided as caretaker for owners.  Daniel died in Bawnboy poorhouse. Have copy of entry death register for Bawnboy poorhouse (Daniel noted as "Widower") and copy of death registration  Apr/June 1910..Reg. Dist. Bawnboy..Daniel Doogan age 71..... As Daniel was a widower at the time of his death in 1910. Was Bessie  living or deceased in 1908 when Daniel was evicted?  As don't know date or place of her death, have found nothing suggesting is my Elizabeth/Bessie in searches of online civil registration entries, cannot supply the info. required to send for copy death record.  Any suggestions as to how I can find out what happened to Bessie (Montgomery) Doogan, last known to be living townland Dunglave at age given as 60 in 1901 and deceased as at 1910, would be gratefully welcomed.

  • Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

As a long shot you could try the Irish Newspaper Archives. I have seen other references to those evicted in the newspapers though there aren't many. Could be another avenue to check out. I too haven't found anything in the death records of note

    Best wishes
