I don't know if my ancestor was born in Cork City or elsewhere in Cork; apologies. John Patrick Grace, born 1867 to Patrick Grace and the former Julia Collins. I am not skilled with the databases yet. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Birth record, siblings, other things? Parents' marriage and some siblings might pre-date civil registration, of course.

John was born June 4, 1866. The family lived in either Lisbealad East or Lisbealad West townland in Drinagh cival parish. The RC parish would be Drimoleague. You will have to sign-in to see the record.

The parents were married in 1848. Below is a transcription of the marriage record from www.irishgenealogy.ie They had a number of children (mostly girls) and it appears that John was the second youngest. The baptismal date for John is May 31 before the civil birth date. This happens frequently. If the parents were late registering the birth they modified the date to make it "current" for the registrar. Likely he was born a few days before May 31st.
