I am after information about John Buckley (1810 Cork Ireland) he was part of the rebel uprising in 1848 and was sent to the US where he died i believe around 1870. His wife was Mary Sippi abt 1810 in Ireland and died in Ireland abt 1883. They had one child John Buckley i am his descendant living in New Zealand. I am after extra info on either one of them and their parents. The info I have provided is from family info and of the interent but i would like to verify this information to make sure.
Cheers,
Jeremy

Dear Jeremy
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
How sure are you of the spelling of Mary's surname? Sippi is not a known name in the 19th Century. The closest baptism for a John Buckley I can find is for a child baptised in the parish of Midelton on 27th June 1844 to a father John Buckley and a mother Mary Sliney. John and Mary were married in September 1843. John seems to be their only child, or at least the only one registered between 1833 and 1853 (a ten year search).
Let me know what you think
Best wishes

Hi Clare,
Thanks a lot for the reply. This site is fantastic. From the info I have it could either be Sippi or Sippe. I ma trying to verify the info I have on her and John.
So firstly the inof I have on John is he was born about 1810 in Cork, Ireland. He was part of the 'rebel uprising' in 1848 then sent to the US where he died I think in 1870. Not sure where but I have written down as Boston, USA. He had Mary married in Cork 1835.
Mary Sippi or Sippe was bron in Tralee Ireland about 1800. She died in Cork in 1883. He father was possibly Andrew John Sippe/Sippe (1763-1832) and Susannah Knie.
John and Mary Buckley had one son only John Buckley (1837 Cork-1875 Irish Sea). He was a seargent and married Ann Laura McCrory.
Any help would be awesome,
Thanks,

Hi Jeremy, I am only guessing that you are reading these names from an old doc. Can you copy them to us which might help to identify the names. Sippe/Sliney and Knie are not readily identifyable but if we had the original we might be able to make a closer match to a known surname.

Hi Jeremy, it would be a great help also if you could let us know if you have marriage or birth certs? You said you found some of the information on the internet, can you give us the links to the information you found. Have you found John Buckley in the U.S. Census?

Hi Martine,
The link I have is from a public member tree off ancestry.com
http://person.ancestry.com.au/tree/25271962/person/1668668000/facts
Obviously being a public member tree it could be wrong but it does have a significant amount of sources attached to the information. If you can access the link you will see what I mean.
The other info I have is from family history info passed down to me from my aunty and they do match up to an extent but the link has additional info about ansetros going futher back I am trying to verify. Again there seems to be plenty of sources attached.
I have not found John in a US census but old family members indicate he was certailny sent to the US due to the cork rebellion.
Thanks again for your help,
Jeremy
