Seeking information on James Patterson.He was born in 1699 in Londonderry. His parents were Robert and Margaret(Teatich) Patterson. He came to North America in the 1700's. He married Emeline, McCorkle, also from Northern Ireland. They settled in North Carolina.

Unfortunately given the early time frame of your search it will be difficult to find out much more about James. Do you know what religion he was? RC records for Londonderry City begin in 1823 for example, much later than your 1699 year of birth.

James Patterson's descendants were protestant so I am assuming that he was also.

Church of Ireland records for Derry City begin quite later too:
