I believe Mary Doyle born July 6, 1871 - parents John Doyle and Mary Kennedy, and Patrick Lynch born March 17, 1870 were married in Dublin South during the period of July-Sept 1894 when I searched Family Search for records relating to both of them. I am not sure about the Parish. Any info would be very much appreciated. I would like to know more about my ancestors. Thank you for your help.

  • An 1894 marriage is probably a little too 'recent' for inclusion in the online  parish records, most of the NLI films only cover up to the 1880s, so the only option may be to order a research cert costing 4 euro from the GRO. See option 1 at this link

Are you certain there's a cross-matrch for this Lynch Doyle marriage on the index ?

I see a marriage entry for a Patrick Lynch marriage in Dublin South in the 3rd quarter of 1894 with references volume 2, page 619, but dont see a Mary Doyle entry with matching details...   There is a Mary Doyle marriage listed int he same quarter and district, but with a different page number 588. The possible brides, i.e. with index entries matching  the entry for Patrick, appear to be Rosanna Fay, Mary Anne Donnelly, Mary Anne Ennis, Mary Anne Carroll, and based on the enhanced GRO index it appears that Patrick married Rosanna Fay on the 1st July 1894

p.s. have you found your Mary & Patrick on the 1901 and 1911 census ?

  • Thank you so very much for your reply. I now see what you are saying. They have to be on the same Volume and Page number wasn't sure how that worked - thank you very much - very valuable information. Patrick and Mary relocated to the United States in 1895-1896 according to the census records and my Grandmother was born in Illinois in 1905 - her brother John Francis was born in 1896 in Illinois also. I am currently working with Family Search entering records for different Counties in Ireland and I'm hoping I come across the records of what County my ancestors came from - I would love to know as I loved my Grandmother and want to know more about her Irish heritage. All I have from John Lynch records is that Patrick was born in Mayo. Any help that I can give you with records in the United States I would be very happy to help. I'm still having some trouble locating Immigration records and Passenger lists but will be very happy to try and help you for your very kind assistance. It is greatly appreciated. Have a fabulous day and thank you again.
