My GGG grandfather Peter Marshall born abt 1804, married Jane Bell born abt 1806.  Family story says that both were born in Dublin. I haven't been able to prove this yet.  Family story says that they left for America in the early 1830's, they had one child with them at the time they left, Catherine Marshall born abt 1829.  After arriving in America the family settled in Will County, ILLinois.  Would love to find any information on them that might be on that side of the ocean.

www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free Irish government site which has Dublin city churches records. I searched the site for Catherine Marshall baptismal records. There was an 1829 record but the father was not Peter. I also searched Roots Ireland for all of Ireland for the years 1824-1834 and the only record I found was in County Wicklow (below), however, the mother's name was Anne.

  • Sorry for the delay in seeing your reply.  Thank you so much for trying.  I know that new records are constantly being digitized.  Hopefully one day I will find where my Peter Marshall came from so that I can make a trip to Ireland.  Thank you again.  Rebecca Marshall Ball
