I am searching for information about the family of Elizabeth (Bessy) MORAN, b. 1836 to William DALTON and Bridget BRANNAN. She was born in Kiltoghert, and married John MORAN in the late 1850's. Elizabeth and John MORAN had at least five children:

Anne MORAN b. 1862

John MORAN b. 1864

William MORAN b. 1868

James MORAN b. 1871

Richard Arthur MORAN b. 1877

Kindly share anything you may know about the above individuals.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

The marriage was actually on October 28, 1861 in the Kiltoghert RC church. See Roots ireland transcription below.

I located the 1871 civil birth record for James and the family was living in Farnagh townland. You will have to sign-in to see the record. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_retur…

I checked the 1901 census for Farnagh and there were four Moran families but I don't see John and Elizabeth.

I did find this family in Lisnagat townland

Thank you, Roger, for your quick reply with spot-on answers. I believe that the 1901 Census family in Lisnagot are indeed John and Bessy MORAN with their eldest child, Ann, and youngest son, Richard.

Bessy was the first-born of William DALTON and Bridget BRANNAN. There were six daughters born after Bessy; all six girls emigrated to New York City. The youngest child was a son, John, about whom we know nothing apart from his date of birth. My 2x great-grandmother was the youngest daughter, Jane ("Jennie"), who didn't leave Ireland until 1883, two decades after her older sisters left.

If it's possible to trace any relatives remaining in Ireland they would descend from Bessy and John MORAN. While John DALTON may have married and had children, with only a birthdate for him, I think there's little chance of finding that branch. Your information gives me new clues to work with for Bessy and John MORAN's children. I really appreciate your help, Roger!
