I'm looking for whatever information I can obtain about my great grandmother, May Deviney, and her family. I do know that she was born in Sligo in 1870. She was married in Lambdon, Surrey, to Charles Edwin Bounds in 1891. She died in Croydon, Surrey in 1920 at the age of 49. It seems he died three years later. The DOB might be considered approximate (subtracted from her supposed age and year of death) and I understand there might be different spellings of her last name. I'm particularly interested in her family in Ireland. The information I've got about her husband, their family, and descendents might be useful to somebody else. Anyhow, I'd love to get information on the Irish side. Thanks very much.

Do you have any information on May's parents names? There are no May Deviney records on Roots Ireland but there are a good number of Mary Devanny/Devany records from 1865-1875.

Thanks very much for responding. I'm afraid that I've only got her name, and that, limited by the spelling I found. Actually, I've found different spellings for the last names of different ancestors in the 19th century in Britain and also in the U.S. They were all the same people! Anyhow, I guess you saw no "May" Devanny/Devany people? I have seen the name Devaney quite a bit in Sligo and wondered if they might be the right folks. I've also wondered if there might be records of people going from Ireland to England that might help.
