I am serching the Waterford message board due to being told the family is from there many moons ago.
I have limited info other than names and census records which are not to detailed.
I will start with Patrick Crotty born possibly March of 1844 give or take in Ireland. Son of Daniel and Joanna Crotty (no clue of her maiden name)
Patrick married Bridget in Massachusetts on June 30th, 1872 A few kids are born in Mass. but they eventually move to Chicago and have more.
Bridgets info is even more vague. Born abt. 1849 in Ireland. I have her parents as Michael and Bridget Kilroy (again do not know her maiden name)
Patrick immigrated abt.1871 and Bridget abt 1859

Okay and now for the Dooley Family
James and Catherine both born in Ireland. James about July of 1829ish and Catherine 1838ish.
James immigrated abt. 1853
Married Catherine abt. 1857 and the bore 9 kids in Iowa, but relocated to Chicago.
Catherine passes away adout 1900

I searched on the Roots Ireland indexes for Patrick Crotty in Co. Waterford. The closest record I could find for a Patrick with a father Daniel was an 1847 baptism. However, the mothers names was Margaret not Johanna.
I also searched in Co. Waterford for James Dooley. I located a record for 1829 and another in 1830.
The 1829 record had parents Joseph and Hanna and the 1830 the parents were Patrick and Johanna.
Without knowing the parents names, we can't determine if either of these records were for your ancestor.
