Edward Bannon chr. 11 May 1811 in Ballyloughloe.  Married Madge Cox.  1854 residence per Griffith's Valuation:  Union - Athlone, Barony -  Clonlonan.  Coolruck, Upper/Ballough.   They had a son James chr. 1939 Castletown-Geoghan, Westmeath.  Edward Bannon's parents possibly Edward Bannon and Catherine Brady.  James is father to my great grandmother Mary Bannon.  Some day I will visit Ireland and would like to know more about these people and visit points of interest.  James would migrate to Offaly (Kings County.)  James would marry Catherine Corcoran.  Per the 1911 Census, James and Catherine resided in the townland of Toora, in the parish of Shinrone, Kings County.  Daughter Mary emmigrated to USA in 1895 with younger sister Catherine, arriving at Ellis Island and listing their occupations as "servants."  Both would marry within a few years and lived in Brooklyn and Jersey City.    Other sisters Honora and Eliza remained in Ireland to my knowledge.  Father James died in 1912, Offaly County.  Any information, as the saying goes, is appreciated!  Thanks!

    Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!

I believe this is the civil death record for James Bannon even though the townland looks like Towra instead of Toora. You have to sign-in to see the record. note Nora (Honora) was the informant

The townland for Edward Bannon in the Griffiths was Coolvuck Upper in Ballyloughloe civil parish. The family must have moved after 1839 since Castletown/Geoghegan is a few RC parishes to the east from Ballyloughloe/Moate.
