I don’t know if I thanked everyone who came on a wet and cold evening to take part in our “Parish litter clean-up”. Whether I did or didn’t and (I think I did), I am thanking them again now for a job well done. The reason I am doing it again is that I noticed on my First Friday round that a couple of places are again littered but by far the worst place was about one hundred or two hundred metres the far side of St. Matthew’s Church in Glann. Bags of rubbish were obviously thrown out the window of a moving vehicle and then burst open on the ditch and left a very unsightly mess for over a hundred yards or so. If anyone saw that happening, they should report it to the relevant authority.
Sunday, 26th May is Diocesan Pilgrimage day to Knock. I hope that as many as possible will go from Clontuskert. I am going, accompanied by Pakie and I will bring the first three who might like a lift to Knock who let me know of that fact.
