Walled Garden at Loftus Hall, New Ross, County Wexford

To celebrate the beginning of the Irish summer, And to showcase the fantastic work that has gone into our walled gardens over the past 18 months, we have taken inspiration from the Pagan festival of bealtaine to introduce what will hopefully become one of our main festival events to kick off summer every year.

This weekend of events kicks off on Saturday May 5th with A garden festival, We will officially open the newly restored areas in the Walled garden which showcase the unique nature of the gardens at loftus Hall in a relaxed and informal manner. this will be the first time the public has seen much of the wonderful work that our gardeners and craftspeople have put in over the long winter and spring months. There will be basketmaking, weaving and gardening tips and tricks from our head gardener.

Sunday May 6th will be an Arts and crafts affair with lots of local talent on show and some fine artists at work capturing the spirit of the garden as it starts to take bloom.

it will be a treat for the senses as we have live music in the courtyard and plenty of food and drink on offer to keep the family happy.

Even if the weather is not compliant, we have covered a large part of the courtyard with a stretch tent so that you will have somewhere to retreat to if the April showers continue into May.
