My gg grandfather Alex McAllister m. Fanny Mary Duncan June 8, 1854 in Aughnish, Donegal
He died 1856 before the birth of his only child, Alexander McAllister b Jan 19 1857 born in Ramelton.
Fanny Mary Duncan McAllister married again to James Moore Nov 23 1865 and had three more sons.
I believe Alex was born in Scotland. My DNA searches indicate matches of Scotland, but I have not found a 'McAllister" match. Per family lore from grandson Alex Sr. had served in the British Army and retired with money to farm in Donegal.
