Alfred L Persse was a member of the well known Persse family, princibly residing near the town of Gort in South East Galway. In the 1901 census, he was living with his wife Florence, daughter Gladys (11), and son Dudley (8) at Ormond View, in the townland of Ballycrossaun, Parish of Tiernascragh.
