This is an update to the information I have about My 2x great grandmother Anne McKeon/McKeown. Ann married John McAlpine, c. 1836, in Keelogues, Co Mayo. They had 11 children, first five born in Ireland : Mary Bridget 1842, John 1843, James 1846, Celia 1848, Patrick B. 1849, Anne 1852, Michael B. 1854, Martin B. 1856, Bridget 1858, Ellen, 1859 and My great Grandmother Hanora "Nora" 1863. They emigrated to Erinsville Canada in 1852. See John McAlpine's profile.Anne McKeon's sister Bridget McKeon b.c1812 married John McAlpine's Bro. Patrick  McAlpine b. c1810. Patrick and Bridget emigrated to Erinsville, Canada in 1843 with their Five boys. Patrick and the 2 youngest boys, Thomas 1842 and Baby boy b. 1843, died at sea during the trip. Three of their boys survived: John H. McAlpine, B. 1835, Michael 1840, and James 1842. We believe that they were born in Skehogue, Burren, Co Mayo

We have new information that her father's name may have been Patt McKeon.

On her tombstone, In Maple Lake, Wright Co., Minnesota, is written from "Co Mayo,  Kelogues Parish"

1) One dna relative lists  Patt McKeon( The father of Patt may have also been named Patt) as Anne and Briget's brother, born Ballyvary, married to Mary or Margaret Barrett, B. Co Mayo. This Patrick McKeon and Mary Margaret Barrett had a daughter Mary McKeown, born 1869, in Ballyvary, Mayo. Mary McKeown married John Roache b, 1851 in Muckanaugh, Castlebar. This John Roache (maybe Roche) was also born and lived in Muckanaugh. John Roache and May McKeown had the following children:

John G. , B. 1890, Mary B 1893, Edward B, 1894, Martin B, 1896, Margaret B. 1898-1980, James, B. 1901 and Anne Mary B. 16 June 1904. All born in Mucknagh as far as I know.

2) Another Dna Cousin, Mary McKeon b. Chicago 1950,

her father was Patrick James McKeon, B. 1924 Chicago,

his father was Michael James b. 29 July 1891, Aughaluska Templemore  Parish, Co Mayo, D. 3 December 1928, Chicago, USA.

His father was Michael J. McKeon B. Jan 1870, Deereenyamina, Married Honoria Mannion. B. Aughaluska.

Their other children after Michael James. B. 1891 were: Mary B. 1894, Patrick J., B.1896 D.1941, Martin B. 1897, James B 1901, Thomas J. B. 1904 D. 1984, John B. 1904 D.1993, and Anthony T. B. 1905 D.1965. Michael James and his wife Hanora Mannion as well as their sons Martin and John are buried in Straide Cemetery.

The father of Michael J. B. Jan 1870, is said to be Patt, B. 1840 in Deereeyanima.

We three 4-6th cousins all have this information in our family tree, and we share smal amounts of dna. We sincerely hope you can help us sort through the info., and help us decide if our  Patt McKeon, Michael Mckeon, and the sisters in my family are one in the same family.

Thank you so much. Christy Harshman
