Daughter of Thomas Callanan, occupant of Calla house, out by Lake Calla.  Sister of Maria ( John Burke), Jane (Michael Burke), Johanna ( Herbert Burke);Honora ( unknown Ryder) and Thomas, John, Patrick, Peter, and Matthew Callanan.  Anne Callanan married Frank Hillary on 13 July, 1837 in the Catholic Chapel in Kilconnell.  They had four children: John (b. 8 Nov., 1838); Francis (b. June 1842); Johanna (b. May 1845), and Maria (b. October 1847). John joined the British Navy and travelled the world.  Francis became a school teacher in Ballinasloe and married Henrietta Bennett in Saint Michael's Church, Ballinasloe, in 1869. Johanna emigrated to cousins in New York /city (The Dunnn's), Maria emigrated to California and lived in Santa Rosa and owned a millinery shop.
