My great-great grandmother was Anne Gleeson. She married a Thomas Russell and had one son, also Thomas. She immigrated to the United States sometime in the 1850s with her young son but no husband. She settled in New Albany, Indiana and married Mathias Flanagan in September, 1856. They had seven children. One son, Joseph Edward Flanagan was my great grandfather. He started an art glass business in Chicago that rose to be the biggest producer in Chicago. Mathias and Anne moved to Chicago from Indiana a year or so before Mathias's death.
