Anne was born in County Clare, that was a fact known in our family. A baptismal record in Quin, Clare, Ireland, for "Anne" has the date 11 Mar 1837. The 1910 census, taken in April, lists her as 73 years old, so this 1837 date fits. Her father is listed as Michael and her mother as Ellen Clune on the baptismal certificate. There are DNA matches to the Quin and Tulla area also. Ann Halloran is not an unusual name in Clare, however, so this is not confirmed. Ann Halloran married Michael Welsh in the U.S., it is thought they married in New York City, after their arrival. They moved west to rural Johnson County, Iowa, where all 12 of their children were born.
