Bridget Codyre and Patrick Mulloy married 21 January 1836 at Ballinew, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  This marriage is recorded in the Rahoon Parish record books.  Patrick Mulloy was born about 1806 according to his cemetery record which states that he was 66 years of age when he died in 1871-72.  Early Rahoon Parish baptism records list Patrick Mulloy, son of James Mulloy, baptised 16 November 1808, at Askwee, Rahoon, Galway, an area where Patrick and Bridget lived after their marriage.

Eight children wrere born to Patrick and Bridget Mulloy.  The oldest child was Patrick Jr., baptised 20 November 1836 at New Village, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  Bridget was bapisted 17 January 1839 at Aiskeboy, Rahoon, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  Sarah was baptised 14 December 1841 at Aiskeboy, Rahoon, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  Martin was baptised 22 March 1847 at Ballinew, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  Judith was baptised 10 November 1850 at Ballineen, Rahoon Parish, Galway.  While there are Rahoon Parish baptism records for five of the children, there are no baptism records for James Mulloy, born about 1837, and Mary Mulloy, born about 1845.  The couple's youngest child, Catherine, was born about 1857 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Having lived through the Potato Famine, the family migrated from Ireland to the United States around 1855.  Living conditions in Nashville were very harsh.  The Mulloys initially lived in small wooden rental houses and were in daily contact with disease, poor sanitation, poor diet, and polution from industrial waste.  Approximately five years after the family arrived in Nashville, the Civil War began. Nashville was occupied by federal troops for most of the war.    Plenty of jobs existed for those seeking daily labor.  The city became a hub for warehousing and shipping  of merchandise and  troops to support the war. The Mulloys worked as laborers, draymen, painters, domestics, and grocers.

Seven of the children married.  Descendants from each of these children are still living in Nashville and in other states all the way to the west coast of the United States.

The first name Martin is not only the first name of one of Patrick and Bridget's sons, but also is the name of grandsons, great grandsons, and so forth.  The first name James is also the name of several descendants.  Codyre is a Galway surname.
