Bridget Doyle (b 11 Oct 1809), a native of Sligo County married John Dyer (b 28 Nov 1801) in 1828. After having devoted some years to farming in Ireland John and Bridget Dyer decided that the new world offered them greater advantages than their own land and therefore decided to seek a home across the ocean. In 1834 they came to America first settling in Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York

  • John Dyer and Bridget Doyle were married on 12 Jan 1828 in Parish of Emlaghfad & Kilmorgan now the Parish of Ballymote - County Sligo, Connaught Province, Ireland.  It is believed, but not yet verified, that Bridget Doyle's parents may have been John Doyle and Bridget Poor,  The names listed above as Father and Mother are not correct.
