This is my paternal Great Grandmother, Bridget Grady nee Burke. Her parents were Martin Grady and Mary Burke. Transcribed records show that Bridget was baptised on June 17, 1849 in the Townland of Cooloorty in the Parish of Abbeyknockmoy., County Galway. Her sponsors were Peter Conroy and Mary Byrne. Bridget's sibling Patrick was also baptised there, November 29, 1846 (his sponsors were Patrick Roark and Judith Joiner). Other siblings I know of are John, Stephen, Mary (later Sister Mary Leonard) and Margaret.
These ancestors emigrated from Ireland in about 1866 according to US census records. I believe that they sailed to New York and they eventually settled in Burlington County, New Jersey. Bridget married my Great Grandfather, Willilam Peoples, in 1872. They had 9 children.- the photo shows her with 2 of her grandchildren. Bridget died August 17, 1929 in Bordentown, New Jersey.
I am searching for any information at all on this family but particularly on Bridget's parents, my 2nd Great Grandparents, Martin Grady (b. abt 1822) and Mary Burke (b. abt 1823). My research shows that Mary had a brother or cousin named Edward Burke b. abt 1817 d. abt 1882. Martin Grady's parents may be Patrick and Bessie Grady according to his death certificate.
I would only add that I have a good number of dna cousins who I am investigating with ancestors from Abbeyknockmoy and surrounding parishes! If anyone here recognizes anyone or place I've mentioned here, please do contact me.
