During the course of researching my Clegg family history I came across the name of Catherine Clegg of Clona, near Maganey Athy, which is on the Laois / Kildare border. Even though am originally from Portlaoise, I do not know that area very well. Also I do not know where she fits into the family history as I don't have any links to her or her family. I recently came across the attached screenshot in newspaper archives for the sale of her farm in 1872 with the address of Clona. It seems to have been a reasonably decent farm and farmhouse, the house having five bedrooms. If there is anyone, local historian in this area who would have more knowledge of this farm or family or any information I would be very grateful.
