My great grandparents Daniel Curtin (1825-1886) and Catherine Collins (1832-1883) immigrated from County Limerick.
Catherine may have been from Abbeyfeale. Her parents were Thomas P. Collins Sr. (1790-1872) and Mary Brennan (?) (1790-?). Her siblings were Ellen M. Collins (1828-1915), Thomas P. Collins Jr. (1828-1874), and William P. Collins (1833-1916). Thomas Sr. and all the children immigrated and all became residents of Washington, DC.
I believe Catherine and Daniel Curtin married in Virginia in 1854 but lived and raised their family in Washington, DC. I am not sure of Daniel's point of origin in Ireland or if they knew each other in Ireland.
I am searching for more information about Catherine and Daniel's lives in Ireland before immigration.
