They settled in Marcellus, Onondaga county in upstate New York. 6 more children were born there. In 1869, her sister Jane Lydon married Thomas Thornton in Ballinakill chapel in Renvyle with her brother, Michael, as witness. then Jane and Thomas and the Lydon parents joined everyone in Marcellus. another brother, Patrick Jr and sister Mary were already there also. Tady died oin 1911 and Catherine sold the farm and moved to Syracuse NY to love with her youngest daughter, Sarah Jane and died there in 1919.

  • Great info! Is that photo actually of Tady and Catherine? I noticed the photo file is labeled as Matilda and John Coyne.

  • yes it is Tady and Catherine. my family had thought it was my great grandparents, John Coyne (Tady's son) and his wife Matilda Gleason but years ago i found an older photo of Tady and Catherine with her parents (their stories also posted, Patrick Lydon and Bridget Coyne) and Catherine is identical in both photos and Tady is heavier in the professionally posed photo that you mention. guess i forgot to change the file name! haha
