Catherine Russel(l) married Thomas Corry/Corrie/Curry circa 1820 in Kilrush parish, likely Kilkee or one of its neighbouring communities. They had a number of children prior to their migration to Ontario, Canada circa 1846. It's believed they left at least two of their children behind. The family first lived at Elmsley, Ontario then in Esmonde, in a rural area that became known as Curry's Settlement. They were devout Catholics and Mass was spoken in their home until Thomas donated a section of their land for the building of a church. Catherine died in February 1879 and was buried in the cemetery of Mount St Patrick Catholic parish, Renfrew County, Ontario.

Catherine and Thomas were blessed with (at least) 36 grandchildren and their descendants can be found in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana and Colorado.
