Constantine Rooney was the father given on the marriage certificates of daughter Elizabeth Rooney (to Henry Trace) in 1865 in Dublin, and Thomas Rooney (married Jane Hance) in 1868 in Clogher. I am DNA related to the descendants of both Elizabeth and Thomas.

Constantine was also stated as father on the marriage certificates of three other children - Anne (1863 to John Mills), Margaret (widow, Burke, 1866 to Adam Pepper), and Mary (1876 to Samuel Wilson), all in Heynestown / Henynstown in Dundalk.

There are two deaths for Constantine Rooney, both in Newry, both aged 88, and both farmers (!!!) - in 1879 and 1892.

I don't know which one was my Constantine (maybe it was neither), and whether the three children married in Heynestown are also the siblings of my ancestors, Elizabeth and Thomas.

Anyone with any info, out there?

PS  The Rooneys settled around Dundalk / Seapoint / Blackrock - I am not sure why this Constantine (if it IS my Constantine) ended up in Newry.  AND here I am in Australia.  One of the Rooneys left in 1900 and here we are now.  I'm from Sydney.
