Confirmed facts:  Ellen Dougherty, emigrated to Ohio, USA.  Her parents names are Thomas Dougherty and Margaret Deram (or Dorrian?). She married John Gorman in Youngstown, Ohio in 1888.  Later divorced John Gorman and married John Tennis.  Ellen ran a boarding house for steel mill workers in Youngstown.  She took meals to mill workers.  She had three daughters and one son.  Her daughter Margaret L. was my grandmother and was born in Youngstown on October 31, 1889.  She had at least one brother, Andrew Dougherty, who lived in Youngstown and worked in a steel mill.  Alternative spellings of her surname include Doherty, Dogherty, and Daugherty. 

Suspected facts:  We think she was born on November 14, 1866 in Downpatrick, County Down.  She is said to have emigrated to Ohio via New York city around 1887.  She is said to have emigrated with a brother when she was a teenager.  Her marriage license cites parents names as "Thomas Daugherty and Marg. Deram."
