Ellen Left Cloughjordan in 1840 as a single lady , she sailed to on the "Susan" to join her brother Ambrose Spencer Kyte in Australia, he had Emmigrated the year before.
They were the children of Stephen Kyte and Mary Mitchell.
Ellen met her future husband William Donovan from Cork on board the ship, They married when the ship arrived in Australia and had a family of six children. They lived in Sydney and William was a Mariner.
