Francis Bell Reilly is one of my maternal 2X great grandfather's. Francis's headstone in Wardsville, Ontario, Canada indicates he was "Born County Armagh Ireland, July 14 1819". A family note indicates Francis dropped the 'O' in O'Reilly when immigrating, although I do not have definitive proof he did this. I do not know his parents, but believe they belonged to the Church of Ireland, as Francis belonged to the Anglican church in Canada. I have found Reilly's in Loughall and Kilmore parishes, but no O'Reillys. So I am looking for a birth or baptism record or other records to find out who Francis's parents were (marriage, death or burial information) and whether he had any siblings, including Reilly / O'Reilly descendants in Ireland. Also any emmigration records for Francis, or siblings who emmigrated from Ireland.
Francis immigrated to Canada somewhere between 1839 to 1849 and settled in Wardsville, Middlesex County, Ontario. He was a cabinet maker. Francis married Elizabeth Shaw who was born October 11, 1828.
Francis and Elizabeth had 11 children. The first was born in 1849. Francis and four of the children are buried in the Wardsville Cemetery. The remainder of the children and their mother Elisabeth moved to Regina, Saskatchewan after Francis's death June 28, 1890. Two brothers, Isaac ( my great grandfather) and Thomas moved to the province of British Columbia (B.C) operating lumber mills and a sash and door factory in Kault B.C. The other siblings and their mother remained in Regina, Saskatchewan and are buried in the Regina city cemetery. The youngest son, Francis Bell Reilly (named after his father), became an architect in Regina, Saskatchewan.
