  • Hi, I haven't yet been able to identify Francis' parents. I have searched online records extensively but have not yet found any convincing candidates. However I am trying to build up a picture through my DNA matches & Gedmatch, & Facebook genealogy groups. One clue which I have pondered over, from India records, is a John Patrick McDonald who worked with Francis. John Patrick's daughter [who died 4 mths] was called Elizabeth Catherine Maude McDonald, & Francis' son's daughter was called Eliza Catherine Maude...so perhaps a clue for family names. Do you have a McDonald or McDonnell connection. Regards, Linda

  • Correction, that is, Francis' daughter's daughter was called Eliza Catherine Maude.

Francis Wm McDonald's daughter was Catherine McDonald, who married William Brady, & secondly married Alfred Marolly.
