Hugh Fox was baptised in Clones, Monagahn, Ireland, so would presume he was born around this area.
His family moved to Glasgow, Scotland in the 1850's where he married Jane Bulloch in 1865. They had 4 children before immigrating to Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand in 1872. They then had a further 6 children.
His wife, Jane, died in 1923 and he married Ellen Marie Wright a couple of years later when he was 83.
