James Cassidy is suspected to have been born c. 1764 and emigrated to Canada c. 1798, POSSIBLY on the ship Lovely Nelly. The Lovely Nelly made port in Prince Edward Island, and the family stayed through the winter but left for Nova Scotia Canada in search of better living conditions.
There is some thought that the family originated in County Meath. Killeen
