I am looking for information on a James Cummins  (Commons?) Place of Birth:  Queens County Ireland?  Possible Date of Birth: 25 Jan 1829? - Died (23rd Feb?) 1861 Religion: RC. Spouse: Bridget (Brigid or Biddy) McDonald, 1821?  Marriage: Clonyhurk, Portarlington, Laois, Ireland. They had children: John William 1860 -1947 who John joined the Army in 1881  + Elizabeth 1858-1914 + Joseph 1855-1906? + Frances 1852 -1925 + Maria 1950 - 1925

James occupation (a possible painter for a company called Matthews Portarlington). I am finding difficult going beyond his name. James Cummins, and where he married. I know for a fact that he died is 1961 as a note from his son John (1861 –1941) to the Guinness Brewery claiming a pension states that his father (James) died when he was aged one, I understand that his mother Bridget 21 March 1821– Died 16 November 1906- in New York) she went to live in the (New York) 315 1st Avenue East 30th Street NY as a wet nurse after the death of her husband James . John was raised in the area of Portarlington by his grandmother ***** Mc Donald and thereafter took the name John McDonald. This can be seen in the 1901 census for Mc Donald, 54 Queen Street or Benburb Street Dublin or Block 10B, Benburb Street Buildings Dublin and seems to have reverted to his real name of John Cummins as listed in the 1911 census for the same address

I would like as much information as possible about James Cummins & Bridget McDonald and their respective families i.e., Parents Grandparents etc., from the area or surrounding areas of Portarlington.  I have looked into the same Portarlington diocese records and found Mary Commons (3 Feb 1850), Fanny Commons (12 Nov 1852) and Elizabeth Cummins (14 Mar 1858).  They are all children of James Commons or Cummins and Bridget McDonald or McDonnell but how did James live and die?  I have found two marriages for a James Cummins at different times... Could he have been married twice, once to a "Bess Mc Donald" and again to "Bridget" Mc Donald, (with both surnames Mc Donald) I have searched the Laois (Queens) Graveyards by as listed by Dr. Lyons to no avail.

A death record shows  a death ...as I have nothing to go on .... Could this be the one? as I have searched the Laois (Queens) Graveyards by as listed by Dr. Lyons to no avail.
