James ran 2 markets in the city of Providence; the Washington Market @ 57/69 Washington St. & the Boston Market @ 147 Weybosett St. Later, he became the proprietor of the Mohican Hotel in Providence.
His cousins, the sisters Mary & Bridget Heslin, stayed with him @ his home in the Edgewood when they first arrived in RI from Leitrin via the Port of Boston on 14 Oct 1904.
