My name is Michael MacNamara. I live near Castleconnell, County Limeick.
I am descended from Margaret Garvey (1854-1936), daughter of Patrick Garvey, (1822-1911) and Mary Crowe (1832-1912) of Aillemore, Killaloe. She married Michael McNamara (1851-1924) of Woodroad, Castleconnell.
Would you happen to know if your James had a sister Bridget Garvey (1831-1873)? She married John Barry (1818-1899) and they lived at Fahybeg. Both John and Bridget are buried at Bridgetown.
James Garvey born1832 had a brother Patrick 1824 & other siblings Margaret 1826, John 1828, & Darby 1835. Patrick had a daughter Bridget born 1863

My g.grandfather was Patrick Garvey, born 1824. He lived in Aillemore in Killaloe parish. The area was commonly referred to as The Glen or Glengalliagh in church records. Darby is another Garvey name in my family but I can't find a reference just now. Bridget was often interchangeable with Delia. Patrick was one of the last Irish speakers in east Clare (1911 census).
Hope this helps. Many of these people went to Australia. There were some nuns, including Delia, early in the century that went to Australia. I'm fairly sure we are related.
