John Markey lived in Finglas, County Dublin.  He was admitted to the North Dublin Workhouse for 5 weeks in 1873.  He was readmitted 3 times in 1875.  His last admission on August 26, 1875 lasted over 9 months ending with his death in June 1876.  He was buried in a family plot in Glasnevin Cemetery.
