I was very excited to see your post.  My full name is Robert Emmett Sloan and I am ralatively certain we are related to Patrick Sloan, married to Mary, mentioned in your posytbased on the info you mentioned about his siblings and parents.  Our family info is on ancestry.com.  Originally, I believed Patrick came from County Roscommon, but I also traced raltives back to County Down where the Sloan mame is most common.  

Do you have any more info?  I've been trrying to find out how they got to Canada, from where to where, what ship etc.  Eventually Patrickick settled in the update NY Syracuse, Onondaga County Balwinville, NY area with other Sloans.  They appear in the US census of 1850.  There, they worked in the salt mines.  Any assistance or advice would be very appreciated.

Hi Tod. Good to hear from you. I am not sure we have exactly the right Patrick as the one in my post remained in Canada. I am descended front Edward who was married to Catherine Atkins. Her sister Julianna was married to Patrick and they lived in St Edouard, Quebec. The seven brothers lived on the same road and the road was called “Le Rang Des Sloan’s”. It is still called that today though there have been any Sloan’s there in about 100 years. Patrick and Julianna had a son named George who settled in Vermont.  I believe Patrick’s brother Hugh settled in Malone NY area. He is the one sibling I have the hardest time finding any trace of.  I have been told that the Sloan’s came over on their own boat. I cannot find in Canada any immigration record of having landed on any immigrant ship. They came around 1829 and settled in St Edward, before it became a French town.  My tree is saved in ancestry.ca under DanielSloan69. I cannot open your link as I don’t have access to ancestry.com. Let me know if there is anything else I can share. I live in Ottawa, Canada.
