Migrated to/Born in USA

My great grandmother, Margaret Forrestal, was born in Meelaghans Townland around 1842 to Robert Forrestal and Elizabeth Bergen/Berrigan(according to her death record in NYC). She married Valentine Kelly on 6 Oct 1859 at the RC church in KIlleigh Parish. The priest in Killeigh Parish Church confirmed their marriage and the births of their children who were baptized there. Since the church records are unavailable online for Margaret's baptism and/or her parents marriage around 1820, I was seeking help to discover that information. I saw a message on this site about the Egans from Meelaghans. It listed earlier birth and marriage records.  I wonder how I might access those?  My gggrandfather, Robert Forrestal, is listed on the  1855 Valuation of Tenements in Meelaghans -- the lessor is Sarah Egan. Is that a clue?  I do have the death records of Robert Forrestal - died Dec. 1870 and Elizabeth Forrestal - died Jan 1879--both events occured in Meelaghans. I would appreciate any assistance that you might provide for me to disvover more about my Forrestal ancestors.

Additional Information

  • I am also interested to see what the relationship is between my great grandmother, Margaret Forrestal, and  Joseph Forrestal who was married to Julia Hanlon, also in Killeigh Parish in the late 1850's.  They raised their family in Tullamore.  Their son, Matthew(who emigrated to USA), was referred to by my grandmother, Annie Kelly, (Margaret's daughter)as her cousin. I was wondering if Margaret and Joseph were siblings or were related some other way?
