Margaret GORMELY [married MANNION}

Margaret GORMELY [also spelled GARMELY] was born in County Galway, Ireland in 1833/34 and emigrated to America in 1854.

Margaret married John MANNION, [Sr.] also of County Galway, Ireland on 23 December 1856 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He was born 17 Mar 1822 and had emigrated to the U.S. in 1848. The family moved to Macon County, Missouri in 1860. In 1867 they moved to Butler County, Missouri, USA and then to El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas, and finally settled on a farm near White Station, Kansas. In 1906 the couple celebrated their Golden Anniversary. They reared nine children: Katie, Mary A., Maggie, Etta [Ella], Thomas P., Eliza, William H. and James C., John [Jr.] Margaret [GORMELY] MANNION died in 1918 In Butler County, Kansas, USA.

She is buried in Calvary Cemetery in Butler County, Kansas.
