Mary Anne was the daughter of John Folan and Bridget Burke of Murvey, Roundstone. She emigrated to England, found work as a servant in Manchester and married the son of her employers.
Her husband, Frederick Borland, liked to paint but I have been unable to find any photo or painting of her.
