Mary Bridget was born to Bernard McGroary and Susan Hegarty on January 6, 1864 in Tullygallan Tullywee Oughtnadrin Barr, County Donegal. Her parents emigrated to Beaver Meadows, PA when she was three years old. She married John Beschke, a shoemaker, in Camden, New Jersey on 31 March 1891. He served in the U. S. Cavalry during the Indian Wars and was stationed at Fort Sheridan, IL where they had five children, two of whom died in infancy and are buried at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery. Mary Bridget died in Waukegan, Illinois, USA at the age of 73 on September 19, 1937.
