Mary Ellen Brennan was born to Luke Brennan in 1866 in Co. Roscommon.
She married Thomas Murtagh from Erra, Co. Roscommon.
They had 4 children, Rose, Michael, John Thomas, and Patrick Stephen. Rose married Dan Foley from Kilmeane. Michael was placed in a hospital in Balinasloe. John Thomas and Patrick Stephen went to America in 1922.
They stayed in New York. Both married. John Thomas stayed in New York where he was killed by a drunk driver in 1970. Patrick Stephen returned to Ireland with his wife Etta in 1954. He died in 1955 in Beltra, Co. Sligo. I never was able to find his grave in Ireland.
Mary Ellen Brennen died in Ballymurray, Co. Roscommon in 1937.
